GROS PITON HIKE

Gros Piton, Soufriere
Time Well Spent - Plain Logo transparent
DESCRIPTION:

Experience the thrill of climbing Gros Piton, the taller of St. Lucia's iconic twin peaks, known as The Pitons.

At the base of Gros Piton is a small community called Fond Gens Libre which means Valley of the Free People, where you meet your guide and begin your ascent.

The entire  hike to the summit (2,619 ft.) and back down, typically takes approximately 4 hours.

At each quarter, there’s a bench for hikers to catch their breath, sip on some water, or just ask a few questions.

The halfway point will provide you with the opportunity to capture some incredible shots of Petit Piton, the shorter of the two peaks rising 2,438 ft. above sea level.

Your aching legs will be relieved when you finally reach the top, and  the view will absolutely take your breath away. The deep blue shade of the Caribbean Sea, the town of Vieux Fort, the Maria Islands, and neighboring island St. Vincent are just a few of the sites you will see from the summit.

After the hike back down, take a cool swim to help relax your aching muscles or a enjoy a scrumptious local lunch, the choice is yours.
